Shekhar Astitwa
Shekhar "Astitwa" is today a well-known name in the Hindi film and television world.
Born on 16 October 1972 in Gondia, Maharashtra, Shekhar "Astitwa" did his schooling in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. His father late. Shri Vamanrao Gajbhiye was a social worker, and his mother late. Mrs. Indumati Gajbhiye was a teacher.
He was inclined towards writing since his student days. In poetry writing, he represented his school many times at the district level, division level and state level. Shekhar "Astitwa", who has been reciting poetry on stages since his teenage years, has given presentations on various stages along with veteran poets of the country. His works have been published in various prestigious newspapers and magazines in India and abroad.
Apart from Hindi, he has also written ghazals in Nepali language. His two books in Nepali, "Seto Himal Mero" (Children's Ghazal Collection) and "Atit ko Tyo Madhur Kahani" (Ghazal Collection) have been published respectively. Apart from this, his first Hindi song collection "Babuji Kehte The..." has been published recently.
Shekhar "Astitwa", who has a boisterous nature, made Mumbai his home after many years of nomadic life, and has been engaged in writing while living in Mumbai for the last two decades.
He worked for many years with stalwarts of the film industry like Shri Ravindra Jain, Dr. Ramanand Sagar, Hema Malini, Sooraj Barjatya, Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Dutt, Nishikant Kamat, Prem Sagar.His songs have been sung by Asha Bhosle, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhna Sargam, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Bhumi Trivedi, Vikram Montrose, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Suresh Wadkar, Shankar Mahadevan, Sukhwinder Singh, Kailash Kher, Saroj Suman and Almost all the big singers of the film industry including Shaan, Javed Ali and Amit Mishra.
Shekhar "Astitwa" has till now written songs for more than 45 mega serials, dozens of albums and about a dozen films. The song "Kar Har Maidan Fateh" written by him in the film "Sanju" became very popular and was also nominated for the Filmfare Award.
The song "Jai Shri Ram" written by him for the film "Ram Sethu" starring Akshay Kumar also became very popular.
These days, the song "Har Har Mahadev" from his upcoming film "Oh My God 2" has also become very popular and is a topic of discussion among music lovers.more..
